Altos Computer Systems was a pioneer in the development of microcomputers for business use. The company was founded in 1977 by David Jackson and Roger Vass.

These images, from a circa 1981 marketing brochure, give some insight into the early leadership of the company.  (Note: Due to water damage to the original copy, only a few pages of the brochure are reproduced here.)



Willis Stinson Jr., head of hardware engineering, discusses the initial 8-bit processor design (based on Zilog Z80), and the evolution to a 16-bit architecture (based on Intel 8086).
